Hi all
Just a quick one can anyone clear up for me ... Once you have PR do you have to do the job that you claimed work experience and qualifications for or are you free to do any job once you have your PR visa ??so for example if I claimed 10 years work experience and qualifications as a brain surgeon ( which i haven't in case any of you are wondering ) am I ok to drive a bus once I have PR ???????????

I think that as long as PR is not subject to you having a job offer, then yes you can spend the rest of your life swimming/fishing or whatever else flicks your switch.
If PR was granted on the back of a job offer, you have to stick that job out for a set period. I seem to remember it being 3 months, but sure someone here will put you straight.

Hi,
Yorkie is right - I got PR on the strength of both quals and Job offer and my Visa says I have to do that job for at least 3 months - and I've also spoken to another nursey who has ( after 3 months in one job) moved to another and its all okay to do that.
Hope this helps
Love
