We are coming over in March for a recci the last week we are traveling back to Auckland. We do not want to stay in the centre, maximum drive 1 hour.

Any suggestions would be much appreciated

Kags, there are lots of places not too far from the centre.

There are places and motels near Manukau, not too far from the main highway and within easy reach of the centre. Other than that I have stayed in some nice enough motels on the outskirts of Auckland, just do a search on them on google.

The golflands motel was nice enough, not too far from Botany Downs shopping area where you could get food and drinks, may be worth a try and not too far from the centre.
