Hi - a very private question so warrants a poll
This poll is to give an idea of the funds families have brought over/or will have access to subject to hopefully imminent house sale
I am a chartered accountant so will treat all responses in confidence:D

I might add that this is anonymous poll so no names will be shown !!

Will be interesting to compare the two to see if people are coming with, on average, more or less ££ than previously.....

Been reading in the Telegraph and elsewhere about housing market outlooks - not good ... that will probably have a big impact.

many thanks for all of the votes guys
please note that this poll is not restricted to just uk emigrees
i hope all others have participated by converting their respective asset pile from your own currency into £sterling - you can use this link for rates

has anyone found the previous poll ?
at least so far there is a reasonable cross section
uk housing situation is a worry - i hope we dont have to sell ours in a hurry!

There have been three polls that I can remember - and even though I remember a larger one I can't seem to find the thread (archived?)...
Here are the ones I dug up (wonder what happened to Rammer!):
How Much Cash? - rather vague poll back in the days when there obviously weren't many of us around!! :D http://www.emigratenz.org/forum/showthread.php?t=1986
How Much Debt did you come here with? - http://www.emigratenz.org/forum/showthread.php?t=10499&highlight=POLL
How Much Cash Required? http://www.emigratenz.org/forum/showthread.php?t=1987

great response to the vote!
with strength of NZ$ (or weakness of others) - UK/NZ rate 2.45! - is it time to take all of those lovely NZ dollars and go back ;)

quite interesting though... obviously money helps, but fascinating that there is a wide cross section across all the categories. Again illustrates how different people's circumstances are and how some can manage with very little and some can have far more, but don't get what they feel they need from life.
hence why the "how much do I need to survive" question always has such varied answers!
good thread Whisky the dog!

you are too kind pip! woof
i suppose the real question is - how much money did people bring who have stayed in nz
too little funds may mean hardship ie so end up with a lower quality of life
and those with larger funds available have a lower perceived quality of life due to reduced purchasing choices/high expectations
make any sense?
(actually the main reason for the thread was i wanted to work out how to do a poll - this was the best topic i could think of :roll )
