I was brwosing today and this came up, so I was curious to see how much it would cost to ship to NZ so I put in my trolley: 1 tub of Clearasil wipes (for the teenagers :D), 1 800g pot of Hellmans Lite and a 500g jar of Marmite. Total cost of goods £13.83 (compared to £11.46 on Tesco Online). And now, add the shipping:

£52.11

:exit

You'd have to be pretty desperate for that!!

This maybe better as it's shipped from NZ. Haven't done a comparison of prices though......

Freight Is Simple:

Anywhere in Auckland $5.00

Outside of Auckland, North Island $10.00

South Island $20.00

Think i posted this once before, but you can British "Marmite" is sold here anyway, in all stores. BUT it has a different brand name as "Our Mate" here. But its made in Burton-On-Trent.

Update (23 August 2006):Jennifer Dean, who works for Marmite at Unilever, writes via e-mail:
Marmite as we know and love it is made at Burton on Trent, the exact same product can be found in Australia and NZ under the name of Our Mate! Made in Burton we just can't use the Marmite name, someone else owns it!! Also most Marmite around the world is produced in Burton, it get shipped in big drums and just packed into a jar when it reaches its destination. Any variation in taste or texture is usually down to temperature controls and storage not because its a different formulation. Twiglets taste of Marmite as they use the same yeast extract, purchased from us

Finally made it to Bramptins in Browns Bay this afternoon. If anyone is after Yorkshire Tea Bags or Loose tea, it is cheaper there than Living & Giving or anywhere else I have seen it recently.
