Just a quick question about commuting times etc. Please forgive if i've missed previous posts on the subject, but here goes.
We have decided on the Kapiti coast( Thats about as much of a location as i can give you at the moment. As many have suggested wait untill you get here before deciding where) for our base and i will be travelling to the Majestic Centre 100 Willis Street, wellington. The mode of transport will be a motorcyle to get to and from work. Would like any advice/info on time/distance, best time to travel. Work starts at 8am to 5pm daily.
Kind regards
Woolfie

Never traveled on a train to work before. Could be a first though.. imagine , warm carriage, nice comfy seats, buffet car, no traffic jams, passengers to converse with, arrive on time refreshed, nice views, no speeding tickets, whoa getting carried away with me self there... Do these types of services exist???
Must admit re-reading that i want to go home on the train tonight, as its ,cold , rainy and windy, sniff. Anybody going towards chester at about 6.pm from cheadle??
Kind regards

Woolfie You're going to be disappointed with the Kapiti service then :laugh (although the views are great). Think British rail in the 70's

I somtimes commute to work on a motorbike here as I have done for many years.Even up here in the 'Winterless North' you have to turn out in some pretty extreme conditions very very heavy rain which I can cope with but even worse are the extremely strong gusting winds. That Kapiti Coast gets a battering so I'd set myself up with a viable alternative for sure.

There are very regular trains from Paraparaumu into Welly and back, but further north on the line are more scarce - I've been told there is only one in the morning, and one in the evening. The Paraparaumu to Welly journey takes between 55 mins and 1hr 10, depending on if it is the express or not.
Hope this helps,
Jane
