Hi everyone. My partner and I are seriously considering the move to NZ. Have found this site invaluable so far. I am a nurse working in Nottingham and my oh is a plumber/electrician. The only reservations we have are the fact that the age of 50 beckons and my oh wonders if we are too set in our ways.Plus the worry of upsetting our pets during the trauma of moving. We plan to visit the London Expo in April and to take a 3 week trip to NZ in June.Wondered if any one else has found the expo's useful? Not sure where we want to settle, hopefully the visit will help us decide. Have lots of questions so anticipate being a regular.

Thanks Ian, very useful info on expo. Think we will still try April as October is quite late.I realise I can easily obtain work through nurse agencies but am really keen to see what is available for oh.

Hi, and welcome, we are expecting a firm offer on our house very soon, so will be making the move in the next few months.
We live in Ilkeston, so not too far away from yourselves.
Check out a few of the job sites - do a 'google' job plumber nz, or similar, and you will start to see what kind of thing is around.
