Hi all,
we are looking to emigrate to NZ. The plan is to get Visa's for us both to work. I have a couple of questions and would be interested in any views or definative answers.
My wife is a Secondary Teacher in ICT and Business Studies. Well qualified with a 1st in her BSc. She has a previous career in IT with roles of Application Developer/Systems Analyst and Project Manager.
I've no formal qualifications beyond A-Levels but have working in IT for 20+ years as developer, Line & Project Manager and am currently Architect Manager.
We have no family connections over there but have 3 young children plus a 20 year old daughter. Would the 20 year old be granted a visa if we were successful or would she have to apply under her own steam ?
What options do we have for getting a visa - I am willing to contract for a while either with or without my family if that it is better to apply while resident.
I am 44 and my wife is a couple of years younger.
Are we better sorting the application out ourselves or is it worth engaging a consultant to assist - are there any acknowleged consultants with good reputations - how much do these folks charge.
What is our options : should I look for a contract role and apply while in NZ or apply get a visa on.
We have approx £150K-£170K equity in the house and may be able to realise another £50-60K if the possibility of redundancy is realised.
Any thoughts or advice would be welcome.
Thanks.
Dave.
