Hi,

I have a question regarding the taxes debit in the paychecks...they work the same way than USA???Example if you have dependents you pay less taxes.

I'm married with 4 kids (11,8,6,and 1), I accept a job offer for $95.000 per year.

Best regards,

Frank

It sounds that the US is the same sort of system as the UK, in which you get taxed less when you have dependants?

In NZ they have a "working for families tax credit" scheme instead where you are able to claim some monies for your dependents.

A quick check at the IRD website shows that you would probably be entitled to NZ$97 per week for 4 children on a wage of NZ$95K.
