I am still fairly new here but have been posting quite a bit over the last week or so. So to re hash my situation before posing the question>

I had to turn down a job offer last year and shelve my PR application due to personal circumstance, now we are looking to make the move, I felt my OH had itchy feet about it and some great advice here was to not make it seem so permenant which tipped the scales in favour of going for her. I don't want to submit my EIO until I get a guarenteed job offer as I am sat at 130 points however I am afraid that the company I am in talks with might not wait while I get PR, so....

I happened to be browsing the list of accredited employers for the talent visa program only to spot my prospective employer on there and wondered if should I get offered the job that may be a wiser choice. It seems it might be quicker than a PR and cost a little less in the short term. Obviously in the long term it will cost more to apply for the PR once we are over there.
I am having trouble navigating the site and I have to admit I am a little tired ans should probably look closer in the morning but am I right in thinking that in order to get a work visa, and visitor visas for the OH and children we would be looking at £95 for me and £50 each for the OH/Kids?

Has anyone used the talent visa option and felt it worked great for them or does anyone think it would be wiser to sit tight and stick to the PR route?

Any thoughts?

This issue has been discussed before and suggest you read WTR(Talent) vs PR Dilema (http://www.emigratenz.org/forum/showthread.php?t=15506) for the pros and cons.

Personally I would go the PR route especially when you have children involved, but simple answer would be to ask your prospective employer if they would wait for PR.

Otherwise, I would go for a 30 month WTR so that you have medicals now so that you are covered for health care and ensure that you will be OK to get PR later.
