I'm just getting a quote from a mover and part of the confirmation email was:

"If you are moving to Australia or New Zealand, please note that our representative can provide a CD copy of 'Moving Planet', a new service designed for individuals and families moving. The CD and website contains information about relocation which we hope will be useful to you together with
access to a range of goods and services at special discounts. Services for Moving Planet members include discounts on foreign exchange, banking, home loans, hotel accommodation, white goods and mobile communications. Simply access the website via this CD to register as a member with Moving Planet"

Has anyone used this service? I like the word "discount" but am usually pretty sceptical and brace for the inevitable rubbish that comes through...

I've not used it as I have not got that far yet but someone I spoke to last year had used it - again recommended by their movers. They said it was an excellent source of info etc...

you get a free cd from your removals - you will get this even if you don't use them - its usually in their quote package.

I have used it and logged into it - its fairly useful but i have not used any of the paid-for services in it.

The moving planet has plenty of deals on their website once you register, but we found that you would get these deals anyway if you contacted the various airlines/car hire companies etc yourself. All it really seems to be is advertising all one one website.
