Just noticed somebody is wanting to know where the swimming photo was taken from a few pages back.... well, the rope swing is on a stream over at Maraehako Camping ground over on the east cape. It was literally where the stream joined the sea, the rocks the kids were swinging off was stream one side, Pacific the next.
If you look at a map and see Te Haka, further east than Opotiki, is about 10-15 minutes drive past there in east cape direction. Hope that clears it up, but it is lovely over there....

Very difficult to get good shots inside caves, mines etc, J took a few when we were at Denniston, and in the Waitomo caves (not the glow worm ones) but the experience is 360 degrees and the light isn't good, obviously, so I've never bothered posting these.

I'll link to this panoramic photo I currently have as my desktop. It's not one of mine, though it's exactly the sort of picture I tend to take, but it is perfect for our circumstances. However, it's huge (and needs to be so) so I won't post the pic, just the link - low bandwidth users probably shouldn't bother.

This is a view of central Auckland from Mt. Victoria in Devonport. Not only does it show the rental we'll be using when we arrive, but it effectively shows our whole commute - walk down the road to the ferry, which takes us into central Auckland, then 5 minutes walk to one of the big office buildings next to the Sky Tower. It's a very evocative picture for me, and I spend far too much time gawping at it (I have a two-monitor set-up so I can pretty much have it full size!)
Oh and it doesn't quite encompass Tia's bedroom, apparently :)
