am hoping some of u may be able to help me, after much discusion with hubby and many blank looks from him. i'm hoping that may be able to give me some usefull links. i'm looking for web links that can help me look into statistics for where we are looking to live. things like crime, houses prices, enviromental issues such as what we get from a local sreach over here. i have seen web sites over here that u can look at but we can't think of the names of the sites, thats whats caused the face pulling. it's just that we want to try and find out what we can about where we are going as we have to stay around welli, lower/upper hut etc. if no one knows of websites an advise will do
thanks

As is Quotable Value's site:
https://www.qv.co.nz/onlinereports/propertyreports/demographicneighbourhood.htm

Not the easiest site to use, but it's worth persevering. You select a property and it gives you a free profile of the local area (average salary, age, property prices etc), compared to the region and NZ as a whole.

It is also worth looking at the local council websites around Wellington as they also have a lot of useful information on the area for example Porirua County Council (http://www.pcc.govt.nz/).

Looking at the aerial photos and maps are always good to have a look at on these sites, they show information such as fault lines, wind patterns etc.
