Well, it's been some time since I've viewed the board, let alone posted here. After our second Reccie trip last year my wife, who originally started our quest to emigrate to NZ, turned dead against it. Since we had to activate the PR visas, we had to go in June, hardly the best time, and my wife really feels the cold. She hated the bustle of Auckland, and the cold of Christchurch. After failing in our bid for our dream house it seemed that we weren't going to go.
A couple of weeks ago we had to attend a family funeral and quite by coincidence a member of another branch of our family in NZ was present. She's convinced us to come out to Wellington so she can show us around Wellington. This may actually be a better option for me as my firm operates a large office there and I may well be able to transfer. The down side is that it is again to be a June trip, with my wife being away on business up until then. I guess we'll be comparing like with like!
