Has anyone got any experience moving horses from the UK to NZ? I have a horse that I would like to bring over next year but would like to hear
from anyone that has any experience in terms of how traumatic it was for the horse, prices and recommended companies.

HI, We looked into this sometime ago and found it extremely expensive - upto £8k!!!! So thought otherwise, we're selling them before we leave.
I seem to remember that we later found that you can't do it, but this puzzles me as horses come and go across the world?

We had a brief look into it for ours and then decided we couldn't justify the cost so sadly we sold them. If you're really serious it may be worth contacting one of the high profile eventers to see how they manage. Horse and Hound could have a list of international horse transporter.
My first husband used to work for P&O containers and they often brought horses back from NZ/Oz. Special container-stables were arranged in a courtyard shape - hence the cost because of the lost revenue for the empty courtyard space, as well as the cost of the grooms for the four weeks or so. The horses didn't seem too bothered though apparently.
