Hello,

We are moving to our long-term rental in Wellington in a few days and have some decisions to make regarding service providers. Here are our questions:

* What are people’s preferences for electricity provider? (I think there is choice there…)
* Same for natural gas (I believe it’s only Genesis, but just to make sure…)
* What about telephone? (I believe it’s Telecom and Telstra?)
* What about internet?

We get both gas and electric from Mercury. It is not always the cheapest, but we get a discount for having both together and it is a condition of our rental that we don't change supplier.

Best suggestion for electricity and gas is to check out PowerSwitch (http://www.consumer.org.nz/powerswitch/Default.asp?bhcp=1) which will show you the best deals.
