I keep seeing houses advertised with a fire and a wetback?
What does this mean. Is it that the fire heats the water???
Thanks

Yes, the fire does heat the water. There's generally an immersion heater too for when you don't have the fire lit.

From a sparkies perspective:- If you go into a wholesaler and ask for an immersion heater element you'll wait a long time. If you ask for an element for a domestic water heater, you'll get served. Just another example of language difficulties here in NZ!
