Hi there,

We are a family of 5 - hubby main applicant, currently in the RAF (possibly would tranfer to NZRAF - anyone know anythng about salary scales there?) and me and 3 kids 13, 11, and 8. We should have a RAF pension to transfer (any idea on the best way?) and an okay amount of money (not masses we are far from rich!) to put as a deposit on a house. Hubby is a project managing engineer with a saftey critical systems and radar background (any jobs? tee hee) and i am an early years teacher. I fancy the North island as i am fed up of getting cold here in Scotland. My feet are freezing at the mo! Possibly not as far up as Auckland (though that is probably where the jobs are likely to be) but around Hamilton. We've never visited NZ but are going to an Expo in April to make further decisions on timing etc after. We fancy a sustainable sekf build at some point too.

ANyway, after that ramble - HI everyone.:raebanana

A big welcome Spid, we happen to have friends who have just joined RAAF and are off to Canberra next month. The RAAF have made everything so easy for them, they also have PR 3 months after arrival.
Anyway hope you enjoy the ride, we are still riding but really feeling like I want to jump off now, hoping it isn't much longer.
Nat X

PS We are hoping for Hamilton also

I know of at least one board 'family' who have transferred to the RNZAF from the RAF. They got a 20ft container (very tight but he got told not to bring any of his ket over a they stuff the Kiwi's issue is fantastic) and paid transit. He's loving his job.

Welcome to the board and good luck with NZ.

Thankyou very much!

Please note that before you can PM someone or they can PM you, you must have posted 5 times on this forum (and it may take a couple of hours after this time to be enabled), so one more post to go!
