Hi all
My wife has just finished a 30 minute phone call with Annie @ Tonix Health Recruitment (Nursing Agency) and is all fired up to start the marathon application process
We've got 9 weeks until our 'recce' trip in April of both the North & South Islands, so she's making a start with the documentation for NZ Nursing Registraton... as with all applications a Police clearance is required.
Please can you advise whether this can be done online, or is it best calling in at your local Police station?
Can't believe it takes up to 8 weeks for a clearance
Thanks for your help.

For police clearance you have to post the forms and 2 copies of id to them (along with your payment). If I remember from my nurse registration the NZNC ask for clearance from the Met police and not your local force - it will tell you on the forms. The police clearance will take 40 days from when they issue the receipt which they send back to you. Mine wasn't back within 40 days so I called them and they sent me another one. I ended up with 2 :D

We just popped into our local police station end of last year to save a few days and any worried in using the postal service.
We are still waiting on them coming through, although the 40 days is not up yet.

Hi Simon and Rachel
We have recently sent off for our registration,at first it seemed a bit daunting, but we accessed the police clearance forms online http://www.met.police.uk/askthemet/clearanceforms.htm they took 6 weeks to arrive. We asked the council to post them back and are now waiting.
I went to our local police station to get all the photocopies certified they did this free and I only paid for the statutory declaration (£5)from our solicitor.
Ive kept copies of our references in case they get lost and thought they may be useful for rental?
Any help I can offer feel free to ask.

A more expensive but quicker option is to send an email to this address (acro.policecertificates@acro.pnn.police.uk).
It is only really important if you need a certificate quickly as it costs £70 but you do get it back in a couple of days (although I think that they do a £35 service with a 10 day response time).
You need to provide a couple of photos signed by the usual lawyer/teacher etc but the certificate you get looks a lot more official than the usual one as it has your photo printed on to it.

The link is fine, but will expect you to have a email client available and if you have a popup blocker this may also stop it.
If you go to this post by James
