i have funny blood - it can clot too easily under certain circumstances - i am NOT under a consultant, it is a problem in pregnancy (but i'm too old for that now), but hasn't been a problem for 20 years now. It doesn't affect my working ability but onlong haul flights i have to have an injection (self administered) Is this likely to be a problem? The condition ISN'T on the website.
Also my middle child is 'chunky' - she loves food and we try to conrol her eating and make sure she gets lots of exercise but she is carryingetra weight.Does anyone have any experiences to share?

Thanks

Bernadette

Hi
I've got a blood disorder - beta thalasemmia - I doesn't cause me any problems but I have to let doctors know when ops occur . I declared it on my medical form. My doctor said it wouldn't cause any problems and it didn't.

Hope this helps Berni

My blood also clots very easily and l also need to self inject with heparin when taking long haul flights but it wasn't even mentioned during my medical (and l certainly didn't bring the subject up ;) ). Just needed to get a letter from my GP before we left explaining why l had 2 ready loaded syringes and needles on my person for customs purposs??!!

Definately wasn't a problem for me and can't see that it should cause you any major issues as it isn't an ongoing health problem which requires regular medication.

Good luck

Forgot all about this but did speak to OH and as already stated shouldn't be a problem :) I personally would put it on the medical form just to be extra cautious but that's just me..

All the best
