Anyone know the officer pay scales (Sqn Ldr up) for the AF?
I've search all the relevant sites so it is going to have to be word of mouth I'm assuming - i don't want to contact them until i know roughly the ball park figure.

Is the NZAF recruiting?
Have they bought some new planes? Last I heard the sky hawks had been grounded because they were so old... there were a few hercs about and some maritime survelence planes (orions?)
But then again Air NZ had a habit of poaching the air forces pilots after they qualified...

All NZDF tend to recruit quite actively as retention is a problem - NZDF personnel only have to give 1 months notice (UK Forces by contrast is now only 1 year). A lot of ex-UK Forces go to NZ or Australia after they've reached pensionable age (16 years service for Officers, 22 for Other Rankls) as they can have their pensions plus a reasonable wage. NZ and Australia benefit from getting experienced and qualified personnel.
The RNZAF lost all their fast jets several years ago when the NZ Government decided not to fund a replacement, now only transport, maritime patrol and helicopters - still need a lot of ground crew to support though.

Hi there,
I believe Squadron Leader's are on around 72k but I'm not sure if this depends on your area of expertise.
My information comes from a squadron leader working in Project Management as ground staff.
a Good salary by NZ standards.

Thank you - that's exactly what i needed - not a good as it could be but not as bad either.
In response to the rest - i have no idea if they are actively recruiting and hubby is an engineer not a pilot so . . . . may ping the site now and see what terms and conditions are just to confirm it's probably not what we want.
