Hi

I am filling in the EOI on behalf of my husband and have become stuck in a couple of areas. Is there anyone out there that could help?

1. My Husband has had a job offer in New Zealand. On the EOI I have ticked the box that says he has a job offer but on the next page it says not to fill in any of Section E if you have not worked in NZ. He has not worked in NZ so I am not sure how we fill in the form. Confused...

2. Family. It states ALL family but who does this actually cover. The drop down list covers quite a few options including sister-in-law so am i right that i have to fill in the whole of the family. My husband has a lot of Aunt and Uncles but do not know them and wouldn't know how to find out any details about them.

Could any one shed any light on these questions?

Thanks very much

Not sure about the job part, I'm sure someone else will help.
For the family, the general opinion is to stick with parents, brothers and sisters.

Hi Danni

Can't help you on the first one but my understanding of the second question is that you need to put down anyone in your family that might want to go to New Zealand in the future and use their connection to you to gain points, sponsorship etc. If they aren't declared now they won't benefit off the back of you in the future. So distance people you are not close to don't worry. We just put down parents, brothers and sisters but you can extend it to whoever you want. There is an explanation somewhere on the immigration site but I can't recall where.

Thanks Persky and Rusty that sounds more like it.

I didn't like the thought of dredging through the whole family.

Hi Danni,

I was as confused as you when I completed the EOI with a job offer in NZ too rather than experience. I hope it's just a slight wording error on their part. I completed all the details for my future employer. If you try that and save it'll show you if the section is viewed as complete. Admittedly my EOI is only at "selected" stage and not checked or anything, but I couldn't see how else you could provide the details to support the job offer and claim the points if not here!

Danni,

I did the same thing as Kate on my EOI.

HI Dannii

The wording on the online EOI is wrong (if you download the paper version, you'll see it's different). See here (http://www.emigratenz.org/forum/showthread.php?t=14063).

Perksy summed it up - it's about their ability in future to use your residence in NZ for points for their own immigration applications.

Hi

Again, i cant help with the first one, but i am sure if you rang NZ House up they would talk you through it, it is expensive, think a £1 a minute, but i did and they were great.

As regards to family, i just put down parents, brothers and sisters only.

Regards and good luck

Sharon
