My Australian mobile phone will not ring a NZ mobile phone
My Australian landline (Perth city) will not ring a NZ mobile phone

My Aust. mobile will not ring a UK mobile
My Aust. landline will ring a UK mobile

I went to NZ for a holiday and could not use my Aust. mobile to ring Aust.

I intend moving to Queenstown NZ and require a NZ mobile phone
that can ring both AUST. and UK mobiles and landlines, and receive calls from Aust. and UK mobiles and landlines.

Is this no big deal, can any NZ mobile do this? Is that the norm, or is it more complicated to do with networks etc.?

I'm not sure why your Aust. mobile phone didn't work in NZ?

What phone is it? Most Australian phones should work without problem in NZ assuming you have enabled them for international roaming.

But if you do decide to buy a new phone whilst in NZ then yes, it will be able to phone UK or Australia without any problems.

It doesn't matter what network technology you are phoning to, just the one that you connect to, to initiate the call.

If you are planning on visiting UK or Australia then I would recommend you buy a mobile phone that can connect to the Vodafone network and NOT Telecom as this would allow you to take your phone with you and use in those countries.
