Looking at old threads for what people provided for evidence of work experience for ITA, (being very positive here as haven't heard if I've got the job or not yet!), I'm slightly worried, as I have no pay slips for first 10 yrs or so of working...can't believe I got rid of them but obviously did! Have got letters from past Head Teachers saying start and end dates but they don't say hours of work coz impossible to say for teachers. Have got appointment letters and contracts and presume I'd send the many copies of my 3 breaks to go on maternity leave and return? Will this be enough? What about the many months of supply work at various schools? A day here, a day there? Just send pay slips to show work done?

We were both self-employed so had a similar problem with supplying payslips.

We submitted an employment history "list" with each supporting document listed next to it.... we used contracts, letters of appt, invoices, and/or references as proof. We also provided them with names and addresses of any agencies we'd used in case they wanted to double check. We threw everything we had at them!!

We didn't have any pay-slips so we spoke to our case worker, explained the situation and she was very helpful and understanding. She told us to explain it all again in the covering letter. Now fingers crossed that is alright as we haven't heard if we've got PR yet or not!

Hi,

I recently submitted our ITA and the officer checking the application said the work experience section was very good and that usually they were very poor and incomplete. Mine consisted of the following:

1. Brief references from last ten years of employment giving start and finish dates. This was time consuming to get together, but still quicker than police check!
2. My full PAYE tax record from the Inland Revenue (can order by phone if in UK)

I work in IT and I move job a lot. Mine was not complete as some companies no longer exist. I pointed this out on my cover letter. As long as you have the first and the most recent I think it should be fine.

Didn't know you could get ones full PAYE tax record; what a good idea! I'll now try and locate a phone no unless you have it to hand?

Any joy on the phone number. I think I have a certificate somewhere that confirms my employment in the army, and I have all my payslips with the current employer but I am missing some information (about 9 months worth) from an employer about 6 years ago. They are a multinational company employing people all over the world but the much smaller venture I was employed by was disbanded and redundancies made and I can't find any reference to them so something like this might be ideal.

No, can't find anything. Perhaps Mickandjean can post it on for us?
