Hi All,
We are hoping to be in N.Z sometime this year. My OH flies out on 24th Feb to look for a job. We will have to go where ever there is work- so at this stage cannot be fussy as to which island we go to!
What a wonderful facility this forum is- so informative, helpful and such caring members.

Thanks for the info about this wonderful forum! How on earth did people do all this "homework" before the internet?!
Alan leaves for N.Z on 24th Feb and returns on 10th March- so potentially he has 2 weeks to "job hunt".As you know , we have gone through an agent, so up until now everthing has been stress free! I know what you are all thinking- Just wait I hear you say!!
But seriously, we were told by the agents up front a few months ago exactly what paperwork, documents etc to get in order. Just waiting for Alan's police clearance and then most of our personal paperwork ready to go for submission, once Alan has job offer. Please hold thumbs! One of the jobs he applied for job is in Hamilton- so who knows , maybe we will be neighbours.
Love to all the family. Not many days now for you guys- before you make the BIG move!

Hope all goes well with the job hunting. My family and I also live in Hillcrest and are looking at moving to NZ within the next few months. What paperwork, documents did your agent say Alan would need for submission? Our agent suggested to either go over on a holiday, find the job and then apply for the WTR visa there or try and secure a job from here ( telephonic interview).

Wow we could be neighbours!! Mountains of paperwork needed, to name a few e.g full birth certificates,vault marriage certificate, letters from employers,police clearance. proof of dependance for 2 oldest girls etc. We are trying to get in on skills shortage, but need job offer. Applying for job when not in N.Z has not been successful- I am no expert, but we have been informed that it is better to go over in order to secure job. We want to get Work visa with PR. We have 3 teenage girls,so lots of responsibilities(!) and I am not prepared to give up everything and go over without a job. But, lots of people do by the sounds of it! I am just a "ninny".
