A quick question from anyone in the know - if you are going to apply for PR through the Skilled Migrant Category, does the job offer you have, have to come from a Talent Accredited Employer or is that only relevant if going the Work to Residence route?
We have several interviews lined up for my husband, some are from talent accredited employers and some aren't, so we wanted to know whether it was actually worth going to the interviews for the jobs from the non-accredited employers?
Many thanks!!

Not sure of the exact answer as it did not effect us, but I think if you have a skilled job it is OK from any reputable company. IE you get 50 points if you have skilled employment or job offer. Check the skilled jobs though as they can be strict.

No, my OH 's employer is not accredited but we got PR, I think it is only relevant for Work to Residence.
Good Luck

So it means any of your friend can take over a year or two year old company or form a new company, and offer you job and that will be ok to get 50 points?

My 1st thought is NZIS do not know who you friends are and who owns the company.
But, for PR you still have to have the required number of points to register your EOI. For a skilled job (IE work permit) instead of PR, there are requirements you must fulfil as well regarding quals and experinence I think. Please check at NZIS online though. - You can't get a job as a plumber if you have no experience and the job must be a real job for a set time.

Yes that what I thought! Surely it would be better to apply yourself than to use your cat, although I heard NZ are letting 8 out of 10 cats in recently on skilled migrant visa
