Just wondered if anyone can recommend any good books for people looking to migrate to NZ. The ones we have found are tourist based and generally somewhat out of date, so would be good to know if anyone has any recommendations.

He's been through the whole experience recently, so it covers most of what you need to consider in making the move, and even includes an Event Planner.

However that said, I find this forum the best source of information by a mile!

You are right about the forum but if anything there is just too much info coming thick and fast so it would also be nice to have a source of info you could pick up read and put down again to compliment this.

Id recommend Living and Working in New Zealand, Edited by Graeme Chesters.
We have a few books but this is by far the most informative.

I agree with Peter. I purchased and read 2-3 books on living/working/buying a home in NZ but this forum has offered much more than I got from those books.

I bought two books on emigrating to New Zealand. The best was Living and Working in New Zealand Edited by Graeme Chesters. In fact this is the only book I referred to. I didn't use the other book at all.

I have both books mentioned and they have given me a good insight into NZ and all it's many foibles. However the forum does give you loads of advice & support. A mixture of the 2 is great.
