hi - can anybody recommend a shipping company that ships small amounts -a few pictures and ornaments and things like that - tea chests would be to small for some of my pictures - ideally a box or crate that measures approximately 5ft x 5 ft would be great - thanks in advance

Shippers can supply boxes speicifically for wall prints etc. But we actually constructed our own box out of very strong cardboard. also remember to use masking tape from corner to corner on the glass (like a big X) so that if by some unfortunate occurance the glass breaks in transit, it will hold together and thus not damage the picture or print underneath.
if the frames are wood, its also a good idea to cover the corners with tissue to absorb any moisture from humidity in transit, before you cover them in bubble wrap.

Just a reminder that masking tape is a good idea, but if you are doing it yourself, then make sure you get the right type. Some masking tapes are designed to be removed within a short period of time e.g. 24 hours, if not done then the adhesive can become very difficult to remove.

hi there

We have just had 14 small boxes packed and taken to be shipped by the local branch of Brittania and they were loads cheaper than everyone else (like over £200 cheaper than everyone else!) and that was because they had a local office so didn't charge any extra costs like the others would to come from London or wherever there office was....
