Hi everyone - we got selected today!! We had thought we would be waiting until at least June because our points were low, but no, what a surprise! :D I saw that our status had changed to selected but wouldn't believe it until now when I read the EOI selection and realised that yes we did make it. We had a little ' selected' dance with the kids in the kitchen (one which the girls and I had previously practiced:raebanana ) Now its fingers crossed that we get our ITA......then the stress will really kick in!

Thank you all :nice1 I've promised myself not to keep checking the NZIS for decision successful ! Thanks Marybelle - my low points were 105. I had initially thought we would be instantly selected, but realised (before putting EOI in) that although I had over 10 years experience in a skills shortage listed job (nursing) I had many part time or bank which was not counted as full years so our points were less. We put our EOI in on Jan16th anyway and expected to wait months...big surprise to be so quick. Are you waiting to put your EOI in or still deciding? Radlad congrats to you too :raebanana :raebanana Hi Nickydwuk -thank you, also reminded me to get started on my nurse reg. You look very organised - hope its all going well!:)

I don't want to burst your bubble but ..... are you the principal applicant? I only ask this becuse if you are and are using your nursing as the skills shortage you may have a problem. It will take at least 4 months - nearer 6 to get your registration and you will need this to submit your ITA. You only have 4 months from receiving your ITA until it has to be submitted. For your registration you will need a professionl & personal reference, trabscript from the University, confirmation from the NMC as well as a police check. Providing NZNC don't mislay or lose any of it (they do have a habit of doing that) you should get it within about 3 - 4 months of submission. I was told to allow 9 months and in the end I began gathering my info in July, sent the aplication off in Aug and got my registration in Dec. Had tot send my transcript 3 times. :(

Thanks nickydwuk - Wow! So much info, firstly I didn't realise that there was a 4 month window to get the ITA in and had no idea the nursing reg. could take so long and I thought I'd done my research!! I'll just have to see if I can get it sorted in time. I was expecting this process to be stressful, but not quite so early.....have already got the references and most paperwork sorted (although I was prepared to find a few surprises when the ITA turns up!) If only I'd started the reg. off when we first decided - I'd have it now. Well I'll try and if we have to reapply then what will be will be.....Thanks so much again for the heads up!

My fingers are crossed for you. Just make sure whoever sends in your references sends them special delivery so that they get signed for in NZ - that's what I did and they got them no problem. As I said the only item they mislaid was the Uni transcript. You will have to pay the NMC and I think the Uni will charge you - mine didn't 'cos I was friends with the administrator. It did take the Uni over a month to send the transcript to begin with. As you only have 4 months to submit your ITA you may have to grease a few palms to get the documents. You could always contact NZIS and explain that there may be a delay with the registration - they may give you an extension. Then again, you may not need one :nice1
