Hi everyone
I'm just doing some research trying to understand the NZ curriculum.
I've looked at various sites (including TKI Curriculum).
Now, as a UK teacher, I'm used to statements in the National Curriculum, learning objectives, planning documents such as QCA Units, National Primary Framework etc. etc. etc.
Have I just not found these comparable NZ documents or do they not exist?
Would be very grateful for any info or suggestions.
Thanks

Look at the Ministry of Education site - (mined.co.nz? I think) There's stacks of stuff. You can also get into things via the Education Gazette website. Have a good rummage through that lot. NZ is even better than the UK for publishing new initiatives. And it's infinitely more readable - or I just may be more receptive these days- lots of colour and pretty pictures and a touch of humour here and there.

Thanks everyone
Am trying to make myself familiar with NZ curriculum (particularly primary) so that if I'm asked about my knowledge of it before I've actually taught it I have something to say!:yes
Will follow up your suggestions
Please add any further comments though, particularly from teachers who are now teaching in NZ but who have also taught from one of the numerous UK documents...he he

nzcurriculum.tki.org.nz
minedu.co.nz
Apparently the curriculum has just been re written and on the above site (1st one) you will find all the statements and levels etc. Feel better now:D
