woo hoo ... we've finally got the blue stickers :cheers
it was certainly a lengthy/slightly complicated/quite frustrating and expensive process to go through ... but we got there in the end !!
so I just wanted to thank everyone here that helped along the way ... and hope to contribute more in the future to help others achieve their dream :yes
we're now settling in to our house in the sticks near Greytown with 5 and a half acres, slowly building our menagerie - currently bees, 2 cats, 2 dogs, 2 sheep, 2 pigs and sometime soon some alpaca ... :nice1
cheers

Definitely chose ambivalent, once I'd looked it up! :D
Ambivalence is a state of having emotions of both positive and negative valence or of having thoughts or actions in contradiction with each other, when they are related to the same object, idea or person (for example, feeling both love and hatred for someone or something).

I need something between ecstatic and ambivalent, along the lines of "really quite pleased actually". So I haven't voted.

I voted ecstatic but I would have been better voting ecstatic but really wish I hadn't had to leave my lovely family on the other side of the world. Mum and dad go back on Sunday and it feels really painful. I think people shouldn't under estimate how hard that side of things really are. :no

Actually that's how I felt as I always thought ambivalent meant, no strong feeling either way. I'd have liked a 'Its growing on me' option.
But I definitely have 'feeling and thoughts in contradiction with each other' when it comes to NZ. One day 'Oh its so great for the kids, they are so lucky', the next minute 'but what about when they are teenagers, won't they get bored and leave'. Then its 'Its great you can have a beach to yourself', then next its 'I wish this place had more life to it, I'm not ready to opt out'.
Having said that, this is often my state of mind towards most things, including the children ......

Haven't voted because can't really say that I am ecstatic but on the whole I love it here and when you move anywhere new you expect to come across some things which are less than perfect.
