... yeah, there seems to be 2 ways of getting a Police clearance... this links method (new piloting scheme, £35 and quick turnaround) or the link via the Met Police website (old method, £10 and slow turnaround)... both methods apparently being acceptable.

The site and service works fine.
I chose the £35 10 day option and it turned up in 7 working days.

I didn't know about this when I started the application process and sent off the £10 to the Met. I was getting a bit worried about getting the application in with sufficient turnaround time and asked NZ House if there was anything I could do so they suggested the Acpo option (it had only become available a couple of days before).
I therefore sent off my £70 and got my certificates a couple of days later. I received the Met ones about a week ago after the full 40 days.
The decision should therefore go down to cost and how quickly you need it; in my case I needed it urgently and cost wasn't an issue as the new employer is paying for it all.

I thought I'd gone mad because I looked at NZIS website one day and the next day it was totally different:o
I'm glad both ways are still acceptable though cos £35 seems a bit steep compared to 10. Maybe I'll get it done quickly though anyway:confused:
