Wasn't sure where to post this so thought as it was for family I would stick it here.

I've been thinking of starting a blog which I see so many people on here have so I can put on pictures & stuff. Can anyone suggest where to start & are you able to make them password protected so just for family/friends?

I favour Wordpress. It's free, the interface is clean, the end results look good, and you can lock it down in various ways.

Once again thanks Chiba looks like just what I'm after, a bit anxious about posting pictues of children on the internet (just me I'm sure) so this looks great

Be careful though - lots of the hosting services have clauses in their Terms Of Service agreement about them inheriting the rights to your images. Not sure what Wordpress's TOS says.

I have found livejournal quite good.

You can select the privacy on images to be only friends - who also have to have livejournal accounts.
