A bit of a touchy subject perhaps -

Can anyone tell me about influence of religion/religious groups on medical procedures or medications in NZ? For example, are women allowed to get a prescription for birth control pills? And are pharmacists allowed to fill those prescriptions?

I found out today that religious groups in Arizona are trying to pass a law that would allow pharmacists to refuse to fill a prescription for birth control pills (and would allow doctors to refuse to write the prescription in the first place).

Does that happen in NZ?

NO IT DOESN'T happen here .. thank goodness.

Since when have pharmacists been allowed to interfere with a Doctors prescription / advice? World gone MAD

World gone MAD
No, just the US and the religious nuts that run the country. :?
Oops, I couldn't help it - political rant just slipped out. :uhoh

Thanks for setting my mind at ease, Moorf.
