Hi we will be arriving in Auckland mid March and would like to find out what we would have to pay for rental accommodation - preferably with some furniture - until ours arrives. OH will be travelling to Huntley for work and so we require suburbs close by - believe Flagstaff is close by - any advise would be so appreciated.

So scarey coming over without any of our possessions and have no idea where we will end up. We did see fully furnshed accommodation in Rototuna for 460 pw and wondered if thats alot.

Are you asking about other costs associated with the rental as well e.g. you will need to pay a bond at the start of the rental etc?

You may be better renting a holiday home for a short period when you arrive as they will be furnished and give you time to look for a proper rental for when your possessions arrive (assuming you will be bringing a container).

Generally rentals would prefer 6 month contracts, so if you got a furnished property what would you do with your own furniture?

$460 would be expensive for a 3bdrm but reasonable for a 4 bedroom in Rototuna. Furnished homes are not too common in Hamilton though they do exist. Try searching for Hamilton rentals on sites like Trademe with a key word 'furnished'.
I know of some former motels/motor inns that are now available as furnished accommodation for 1-12 month terms, though these would usually be 1 bedroom units for 2-4 people.
