Can any one help with info or links on the ability to retrain in NZ as a gas fitter? Are there certain areas that run courses? The costs and time frame etc. OH would like to change career as there would be limited opportunity for his present job in NZ.

Hi,
not sure if trying to retrain in nz would be a good idea as the training in the uk i feel is far better.
most gasfitters here are very good at installing equipment but only a small number would have the courage to try and repair when there are problems, in fact all gas service techs i know are either English:D or Dutch.
What is your oh's occupation?

He's a tug driver at the docks ( moving containers to and from crains) but he did construct, supply and fit gas patio and various other heaters several moons ago!
