I am toiling over the on-line pre-assessment application and have reached an optional part titled "Professional, Vocational and Trade Experience". Has anyone out there filled this in and what info did they include.

I am getting my husbands Btec ONC in Electrical and Electronic Engineering assessed. He passed this in college in the 80's and has since worked as a telecoms eng for BT and now works as a Network Eng for Vodafone.

The qualification got him the job at BT so should I use this as work experience since it is most relevant to the qualification.

Alternativley (sp?) I could be being real dopey and this section could not be relevant to us at all, what do you think?

Toni.

I have sent my application for pre-assessment few days back and I filled in experience section as well, haven't received results yet but might get by the end of this week. I will let you know what they did to my experience but personally I think they will only assess qualification for which get money for. The qualification in question is a M. Sc in IT.

Yes he will receive bonus points for work experience if that work is obtained on the basis of qualification. In essence qualification should be relevant to work experience.

You can get points for the qualifications generally, and bonus points if the qualifications are relevant to the job offer. You can get points if work experience is relevant to the job offer.

For qualifications, work experience and job offer, you can get bonus points if they are in identified future growth areas, and further bonus points if they are in areas of long-term skills shortage.

Thank you for your replies.
I have decided to put all his work experience on the on-line form. After you save each enrty the form is blank again and you can input some more.
If some of it is not relevant they can ignore it.

So fingers crossed now that it will come back with good news.

Thanks again
Toni
