They quoted us US$7350 for a container from Los Angeles to Wellington, and this seems to include everything from packing our stuff and loading it, to paperwork, to unloading it in Wellington post-MAF.

This compares pretty well to UPackWeShip's quote of US$5660 that seems to just be the shipping container and two hours time to pack our stuff in it.

Any hidden pitfalls that I'm missing by going with the more expensive option?

I had a visit from the contractor Ranier uses in SoCal, and I must say I am extremely impressed. If they take the same care in moving my household that they did in discussing my options and inventorying my house, I will be extremely satisfied.
