Any of you over there know if there are many local football teams and leagues, especially in either Auckland or Wellington?

And before you mention rugby, that is solely a spectator sport for me nowadays after 2 dislocated shoulders, and an imprint of me still remaining on my local school pitch!

can't answer for Wellington or Auckland but should think its the same as Chch. There are masses of soccer teams for kids, both boys and girls, then when the boys get to be teenagers a lot of them move over to rugby so the soccerscene in that age group up to the late 20 is quieter. Above that age group soccer starts to come back into being more popular and there are more teams. hope that helps. On aslightly different tack There is a lot of Cricket down here in Chch too.
