Hi everyone, i'm Len.....
I'm yet another person trying to escape the rigors of London (England). :exit
I've been looking into Wellington for quite some time as i have friends from there. Ever since my 2 sons were born I've known that London is not the place to raise kids.
I've been reading through this website for a while and i'm very impressed with the support that seems to be offered. So if you don't mind i'd love to join in.
Although i'm not planning on actually moving for another 1 or 2 years, i'm thinking that now would probably be the time to start things (paperwork wise). I spoke to an immigration lawyer who made it sound super easy and he was 100% sure there would be no suprises or problems and that i'd find work without hassle.
I work for "the tube" and have loads of work related qualifications such as, emergency/incident management, health and safety, revenue investigations, operations room blah blah blah.
I won't be using a lawyer though as; 1. the missus wouldn't let me, and 2. EVERYONE says not to bother!
I'm pretty clueless with the paperwork side of things and have NO understanding of how it all works out! For example I've been told to get a job, I need to virtually have my residents visa and to get a visa I need a job?!?
Anyways you'll probably see me post 150 stooopid questions soon, but I gather this is the best place to get good, honest, sensible anwsers...
Thanks in advance!
Len
