Hi All

Looking for accommodation in Auckland April time for a couple of days before making our way down to Hamilton...any ideas?

Also at the moment getting prices for a motel in Hamilton for 6-8 wks until our stuff arrives...bit pricey! Would it be better to look for a rental straight away? What do most people do?

We stayed at The President, Great Western chain, but Clare reminds me the breakfast is not up too much :uhoh

Would def go for the renting option as cheaper and no guarantee when your container will arrive or be released to you.

We stayed here when we first arrived but it was in the winter and so was cheaper.

We stayed in a motel in Christchurch for first couple of weeks but luckily duncan's employers paid for that - was expensive though around $165 per day for self contained 2-bed apartment. As for rentals we are in one now with borrowed furniture till our container arrives although we did buy new beds cos we didn't ship our ones. i also just bought the cheeapest basic kitchen stuff etc which didn't cost that much to see us through.

Ben's right about timings of containers - our one was due to dock on 19th Feb then 25th Feb and has now been delayed until 9th March!!

Have a look at hiring a bach (holiday house), fully furnished, usually cheaper than motels and the longer you rent you may be able to work out a good deal with the owners :nice1

We use www.holidayhouses.co.nz/ , www.bookabach.co.nz/ and www.holidayhomes.co.nz/ the most and usually always find something reasonable and nice.
