Hi,

Just thought I would introduce myself as I'm sure I will be asking a lot of questions over the next few months.

We have decided that like you New Zealand is where we want to bring up our family and are currently in the early stages of making this a reality. We are just ploughing are way through all the information etc.. regarding EOI.

My OH is a multiskilled engineer/fitter from an apprenticeship background and I am a qualified Chartered Accountant who has taken a step back from the industry in the last few years to bring up our ever increasing brood of four kids - 7,6,4 and 2 months. If there are any of you out there who have or are making the move from a manufacturing/prodution engineering background then we would love to speak to you (and harass you for more information/ideas on jobs etc :laugh ).

We are really open minded on where in New Zealand we go to, I would prefer the North Island but at the end of the day we will go where the jobs are but is there any areas of NZ that in your opinions are worth avoiding especially with a young family?

Thanks to you all in advance for your help and I might well see a few of you at the London Expo in April.

Davvie

Hello.:) Haven't any answers myself, but no doubt there are those out there who have, and they'll be along.

Hi Peter,

It seems we are only down the road from you in Southwater :). I think there must be something in the water down here.

I hope your move and everything goes OK - have you got any jobs lined up?

Hi

Originally from Crawley and will be back there from Feb 24 until July (to remind myself why we left!!) so could meet up if you're interested.
Though I'm likely to South Island bias.

Hi Davvie,

Nope we don't have any jobs lined up yet. I’m not planning to start applying till we have submitted out ITA and put the house on the market.

In an ideal world, I'd like to move October time just as NZ is coming into spring and UK into autumn. :)

Hi Aggelon,

We are also originally from Crawley and only moved out a few years ago. It would be great to meet up when you're back - although I can't think why you would want to swap good old Crawley for NZ!!:laugh

Let us know how we could get in contact as I don't seem to be able to find a way to personal message/email you on here.

Thanks
Davvie
