.....in plain English?

I had a read of it, and it seemed that it was mostly to do with how they judge whether employment is skilled. Namely, it had to meet or better the description in the ANZSCO list.
Does this basically sum it up? Because I always thought that this was a requirement for skilled employment beforehand anyway?

Though I find it hard to recall. All policy on NZIS website has been updated to the new one.

Was there much else to it beyond this?

When it comes to policy change dates- what is it that matters: The date your application was received by NZIS, the date it was "accepted for processing" or the date that they charged you?

No idea about the changes sorry.

But i just checked the list and i am shamed to think People that are skilled to play with Electricity safely are only level 3, when if you wear a suit and have a degree you are skill 1...?!?

(i know i am prejudice against suits, but is it really skilled?)

A double windsor is a real toughy and should only be attempted by those with at least an MSc.

I've been reading it, but I can't quite understand it either. It seems it gives another way to qualify for skilled status? Other than the ones already outlined in the SMC.
Also, lower assessed qualifications now count for more points on the EOI?
Am I reading that right? Well, that seems like a good change then?

Some of those changes look to be fixes to issues that people have been having.
Don't know if that is bad or good as it may be well after the fact.

A specialist knows more and more about less and less until they know nearly everything about practically nothing!

Jokes aside, I am no specialist on the new changes to smc policy. Couldn't quite work it out either.

We got bumped back into the pool, because suddenly our quali was no more a level 2 but a level 1. All the trouble for nothing. Now we need to get a job offer to get yet another ITA.

I thought a level 1 was a higher rank than a level 2?
Now what I read makes even less sense.
Sorry for you. :(
