Well.....our plan was to emigrate in September to Napier after sorting out things on this side and spending time with family and friends!
I decided to apply for a job that I saw in Napier that was really up my street and really it was just to test the water and see whether my CV was up to scratch etc. Found out this morning that they have shortlisted me for the job and want me to email a presentation and then have a telephone interview..........YIKES!
I am so excited but really nervous at the same time :wah It seems so strange that part of me would really love the job but the other is worrying about getting things sorted earlier than planned....if I got the job that is!! I know I'm jumping the gun but I just can't believe that it is happening...after so long!!! :uhoh

I know that panicy feeling well and trust me when I say it's like getting off a roller coaster when it ends. In the words of the Teletubbies "Again, again!!" It's a good scary:D

In a similar position myself, only just started the migration process but saw a job that was ideal and got a video interview coming up next week, after an initial phone interview.
Only question is what to wear for the interview, it's an IT job. If I was going to an interview I'd always wear a suit, but the video interview will be from home, so I think I'll go smart casual.

I'd say smart casual would be fine :)

Thanks for the good wishes, just been offered the job and intend to take it.
I'll need to be there within the month, next few weeks are going to be very hectic, everything has happened so quickly. I had just successfully negotiated voluntary redundancy at my current employer in the UK before I applied for the NZ job and finish at the end of the month, so that is ideal, but so much to organise now.
I was intending to look at contract jobs in the UK, while I folllowed through the migration process and sorted out things at home, but the job I applied for offered support for a work visa application and seemed ideal
House isn't even on the market yet! I've the first estate agent coming round today, and now just off to check out removal specialists on the web. Anyone know of any recommended check lists, I'm just starting one, but would be handy if there was one I could refer to.

there are some handy checklists on this forum, possibly someone knows where they are already and will link them if not they shouldn't be too hard to search for.
Congratulations and hope everything goes smoothly for you!

Thanks again everyone for their good wishes, really appreciated.
Thanks for that link Sue, that's super.
Had a slight setback when I got home to find a letter from my local police saying that they had sent off the police check to the National ID service at Scotland Yard for it to be processed and that would take 4-5 weeks! When I handed my form in at the local SY Police office in Sheffield last week they said it would be 3 weeks for it to come back, instead I'm looking at 6 which is ridiculous.
I've since managed to find that there's a new quicker proceedure
http://www.acpo.police.uk/certificates.asp
10 working days or 2 days for the premium service.
It'll cost a wee bit extra, but if it is going to come back that much quicker, I'll happily cough up the dough in this instance.
Good luck smitjo with your Napier interview.
