Hi
Here I am stuck with online EOI form. On recognised qualification page they ask, "Is this qualification included on the List of Recognised Qualifications?" and after the option "Yes" it asks, "What is the level assessed by NZQA?".
I haven't done assessment yet and I donot intend to because my qualification is on the register of recognised qualifications (City university London). I assme my qualification is Master Degree, so here is next catch:
""Has your qualification been assessed by the New Zealand Qualifications Authority?""..........which is of course NO, now problem is that at the end of this page they say
""PLEASE NOTE: if you have answered No to questions F3a and F4a , the qualification does not qualify for points as a recognised qualification""
The question F4a is "Has your qualification been assessed by the New Zealand Qualifications Authority?"
So if I choose YES to qualification assessed then I have to fill in NZQA reference number and if I choose NO, then it says qualification does not qualify for points.
Despite of recognised qualification, am I not going to get points or there is any problem with online application form. Please help.

as far as i am aware, but please wait for clarification :
if you don't have a job offer, NZIS will ask for a full assessment of your qualifications irregardless of it being on the recognised list ...
i had to do a pre and a full assessment and of course, messed it up by getting a job offer in the middle of the process :cheers

I thought the same thing.
I had a degree on the list of approved qualifications. Which means you do not need it assessing. We put that it was equivilent to what we had eg batchelors or masters and then we ticked that it had not been assessed by NZIS and no problems came back due to us doing that. We still got the points. They total up at the end of the section sometimes. I kept thinking i have not got the points for that catagory and going back, changing nothing and then we had the points. Sometimes the server is slow to add the points to your total. We still got the points for my qualification even though we put it had not been assessed by NZIS. Otherwsie what would be the point of having pre-appoved degrees etc.
if you are a nurse then it will ask at a later point (i think) about whether you have had your qualifications assessed for registration purposes and who the regulatory body that did this was - eg nursing council of NZ.
if you have any queries i would say to ring the NZ office for telephone assitance as it works out cheaper than the £1 a min uk help and they usually give better advice.
We were always staying up till 10pm uk time to ring NZ immigration, they are most helpful.

Hi, question 1 - you can claim if your university is on this list http://www.immigration.govt.nz/nzis/operations_manual/7960.htm - either BA Hons (50 points) or Masters Degree (55 but only if you have BA also from the list).
I answered yes to F3a and F4a. I put "not known" in the reference number field and it gave me 50 points. Immigration went through my form at one of the Expos and said this was OK.
F5a - Type (I selected Interim) - see http://www.immigration.govt.nz/nzis/operations_manual/6400.htm
Don't know if this is right but they seemed happy when they went through my application.

I have an honours degree in Archaeology. Here's what I put in answer to F3 and F4 (and just left F5a and F6a blank):
F3a. Is this qualification included on the List of Recognised Qualifications?
Or has an Occupational Registration Body assessed your qualification as comparable to a New Zealand qualification that is on the List of Recognised Qualifications?
Yes
What is the level assessed by NZQA?
7 - Bachelors degrees, Graduate diplomas
F4a. Has your qualification been assessed by the New Zealand Qualifications Authority?
No
Where it says this:
PLEASE NOTE: if you have answered No to questions F3a and F4a , the qualification does not qualify for points as a recognised qualification
...note that it says F3a AND F4a - if you say yes to one of them, it's OK.

Yes, I think MaxG got it right. I remember too being momentarily confused until I understood the "and" wording.
MaxG, did you get your PR without a job offer? If so that is a quick turnaround.

Max I got the point, sometime we ignore one word and get stuck.
I have already paid for pre-assessment on 1st Feb, but result haven't come so for.
Just a little more advice, if I include results of pre-assessment, will NZIS ask me to provide full assessment later on although my degree is recognised? and will they not ask if I dont?.
