Is there a pub in christchurch that shows English Premier league games? obviously most of the matches would have to be repeats due to the time difference but I think it would be great to be able to watch a match in the pub as this is something that would be greatly missed by alot of british male immigrants.

might be worth trying the Holy Grail in the town centre - OH has snuck in from time to time to catch a liverpool match mid morning, but I think he was on his own....

I would be wanting to know the same in Auckland - hate the thought of not watching the games - anyone know of any pub that I can stop off and watch.

Cant help with the pubs in Christchurch but suspect they are using the Sky feeds but can answer as a domestic user .


Most games are shown live , i.e. very early Sunday morning and Monday morning see link

http://www.skytv.co.nz/tv-guide.aspx of course it's FA cup weekend so get a couple of games on ESPN not Sky :yes

The UK Monday evening game is normally shown live on Tuesday morning.

Most games are also repeated at some stage later the day they are broadcast

well I have just looked up the holy grail christchurch pub and its open 11am till late so i can only assume that the games a previous poster was referring to were repeats,,
unless an early kick off game would be shown live at around midnight but i doubt it !

I understand the Bard on Avon in Christchurch shows the matches live in the middle of the night...
