I had a nice email from Immigration tonight to advise that our PR has been approved in principle - yay!!!

Even though the work visas went through with no problem, I still won't feel settled until we have PR, so we are now one step closer. Is it just a case of paying the migrant levy or is there some other step to go through?

Guess you will have to wait a while though as the ship hasn't arrived yet!

Assuming your case is now being handled by Wellington? I would just go in to pay the migrant levy and get the PR stuck in your passports, it's very easy to do (as you work in Wellington anyway) and saves any risk of your passports going missing.

IanW - I've asked where the process is being handled from, as I feel a little uncertain about posting our passports back to the UK, but they haven't replied yet. If I can get over this last hurdle in Welly, I'll certainly do that!

BTW, the ship comes in at the end of this week, not long to go now..:cheers
