Dear All ;

Need help please , I’m a programmer with 8 years of experience .I have a Diploma degree in Computer/Programming .2 years of studying after the general high school .
When I read the Long Term Skill Shortage List Requirements I found the following :

-------------------------------------------------------------------------
Occupation Group: Information Technology (IT) Professionals

Occupation : Programmer

ANZSCO Code : 261311 to 261399

Long Term Skill Shortage List Requirements : Degree-level (Level 7) qualification majoring in computer science, information science or information technology AND three years of relevant work experience

In order to claim bonus points for qualifications in an area of absolute shortage under the Skilled Migrant Category or the General Skills Category, applicants must have the following qualifications : Degree-level qualification (Level 7) majoring in computer science, information science or information technology
--------------------------------------------------------------------------------------

•What do they mean by (Level 7) ?
•Does my Diploma degree able me to gain the points as Long Term Shortage and absolute shortage ?

Please advice me cause I’m waiting your opinions to continue my EOI .
Thanks for all of you .

Level 7 is a degree, rather than a diploma, the latter usually scores 5 or 6 in an NZQA assessment (which you will require). If I read your post correctly then you studied for 2 years to obtain your qualification, so yours must be a diploma. Under these conditions you are not able to claim any bonus points for skills shortage.

You are a 100% right , but I still can gain 120 points, I think they are enough for submitting my EOI .

Thank you :)
