If anyone remembers my prevoius post regards whether to go for my
PR or another work permit and most of you advised me to go speak to a case officer?

Well i finally popped into the Wellington branch today at lunch, when i got my turn (25min que) i asked to make an appointment to speak with a case officer, and i was told
"do you have a case officer assigned to you, if not sir then we cannot get you a meeting with an immigratiuon officer, we can advise you that all enquires or advice can be dealt with by our national telephone call centre only, i am unable to make any meetings or appointments for you."

He then offered to assist me over the counter, to which i asked for somewhere private as we was within earshot of 10-15 people, to which i was then told..

"Sorry sir, we dont have anywhere private to chat, if i cant help you here then you will have to call the national help centre"

So how the hell can i speak to an officer for there best advise?
Anyone have the direct number of any? LOL

Hi Lee. Sorry to hear it's such a struggle... in your shoes I think I would have just asked him there and then, and ignored the 10-15 in earshot!

Good luck, hope you get it sorted,

Jane

Well i am not that bold sorry.. Medical circumstances are something you dont discuss at a reception counter with 15people all standing behind you to speak to the guy.

And as knowledgable as i am sure the guy was, i would prefer to speak as i wanted to an actual decision making officer rather than the friendly face at reception.

First real dealings with NZIS and i give them 1 out 10 for poor service! :(

Sorry about this Lee. I'm very anti NZIS at the moment owing to them admitting they have made a mistake inviting us to ITA at a cost of £1000 in medicals.

Hope you get to speak to someone who is not only courteous but knows what they are doing!

In my experience thats no one at NZIS:(
If pushed they will revert to the line, 'visa officers only talk face to face with applicants if the need arises for them to interview them.'

You should have them stuffed and put at the entrance to NZ House, Sharon. Ours is crap and cant even answer a simple question by email.
