Questions for those already living in NZ: I'm from Holland and (part time) jobs for the a bit older moms (say over 45) who want to start working more again when the kids are a bit older are not available much, and when they are, they always seem to hire the younger women...
Does this happen in NZ as well? Officially age discrimination is not legal in Holland, but they reply they picked another suitable candidate in that case, so you'll never be able to prove they are only hiring the younger women. I have been doing the odd job now and then and have been doing translation work lately, but am wondering if there will be more work in NZ?

I don't know the answer BUT if I was recruiting I would prefer someone older who was less likely to go on maternity leave and be hungover
