I sent an email to NZIS as we have everything in place for our ITA to be submitted apart from my husband nursing registration which is taking forever. We were worried as our 3 months on the medicals runs out on the 19th March and it might not be sorted by then. I was going to submit with everything bar the nursing reg but this is what NZIS told me.

Please do not submit an application with missing documents as it may be
returned to you as incomplete. If you find closer to your due date that
you are still missing documentation you can email me and request an
extension. In order for you to be granted and extension we will need to
be provided with a list of the outstanding documents and evidence to
show that you have tried to obtain them. We would also need a rough time
scale as to when these documents would be available.

I can advise that it is possible to have the valid period of your
medical reports extended. You will simply need to ask your panel doctor
to re date the medical reports (by crossing out the old date and putting
the current days date). This will then extend the valid period of the
medical by 3 months from the new date the doctor has written. I can
confirm that the panel doctors are in the position to do this for you.
However, if they are not willing to do this then you will need to get
new medical reports carried out.

Didn't know that and of course the doctors could refuse but feels like we have a plan B if NZNC don't sort themselves out.
